Another change to Seattle’s skyline is on the horizon: The 45-story Hyatt Regency Seattle is under construction in the city’s Denny Triangle neighborhood. It’s set to be the largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest, with 1,260 guest rooms and 103,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Scheduled to open in late summer/early fall 2018, the hotel will be located at 8th and 9th Avenue between Stewart and Howell streets.

According to Danielle Boyles, director of sales and marketing for the hotel, the meeting space will be tiered onto three levels. On the first level is the 19,000-square-foot lower ballroom, which will be divisible by three. The first level also includes breakout rooms, approximately 8,000 square feet of pre-function space, city skyline views and natural lighting. 

On the next level up are the hotel’s junior ballrooms: the first, a 7,200-square-foot room divisible by two, and a second 3,500-square-foot ballroom. That same level also includes pre-function space and breakout rooms. The third level features a 19,000-square-foot upper ballroom, as well as pre-function space and breakout rooms. In total, there are 46 breakout rooms in the hotel, ranging in size from 600 to 2,000 square feet. All three levels are connected by elevators and escalators. On-site amenities include two restaurants, a 3,500-square-foot fitness center for guests and a Hyatt Regency club lounge.

Hyatt Regency Seattle will be two blocks from the Washington State Convention Center and is directly across from the site of the proposed convention center expansion, which is set to begin construction later this year, with completion in 2020. It is also near area attractions, such as Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and the Seattle Aquarium, as well as Seattle’s vibrant Capitol Hill and Lake Union neighborhoods. A $16 million redesign has been announced at Stanford Court, a tech-centric hotel located atop the San Francisco landmark Nob Hill. With a slated completion of spring 2018, the renovation will touch everything from the hotel's lobby to their guest rooms, fitness center, meeting and event spaces and hotel amenities. The hotel will remain operational throughout the entirety of the project.

The most recent private venue to grace the streets of Seattle is anything but a brand new building. Originally a 1927 ice warehouse, Block 41 is a revamped two-level building featuring 13,000 square feet of event space.
